Beschrijving
Willem de Vries is zoon van Jan Jans de Vries uit Noordwolde. Hij wordt grofsmid in Bozum. Op 24 en 30 december 1887 adverteert hij in de Leeuwarder Courant met 'eigengemaakte schaatsen a f 2,50'. In 1892 wordt hij smid in Mantgum, maar of hij daar nog schaatsen maakt is twijfelachtig.
